Our advocacy
MOTHERS AGAINST FORCED FOSTER ADOPTION, founded by Mona Spellman, is an advocacy group committed to protecting families. We champion legal changes and provide crucial support to those affected by the foster system and forced foster adoptions. Explore our initiatives and how we fight for family unity. We use grass root efforts to create laws to change the system. The New Jersey Division of Children and Families has reported statements are not enough to decrease the number of family separations, we need action of the people to stand up and speak out against family separation. Lets support the efforts which began at the New Jersey State Capitol and on a National Scale. Every state has a capitol and these initiatives are a National cry for laws to support the end of family separation practices on nonwhite families. We call for a state and national implementation to support restoration of parental rights in every state from capital to capital supported through the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) as of March 2026. Approximately 22 to 27 states have legislation in place that allows for the reinstatement of parental rights following termination of parental rights (NCSL, 2026).
